Widex Allure — Freehold, NJ

Widex's Biggest Release in Five Years — And One of the Best-Reviewed Hearing Aids Available

The Difference Is Clear

Widex Allure Hearing Aids

The MOMENT platform served as Widex's flagship for five years — from 2020 through early 2025. That is a long run in a market where most platforms are replaced within two to three years, and it reflects how strong the MOMENT's clinical performance was. Succeeding it required something genuinely new.

The Widex Allure, launched in March 2025, delivers that. Built on the new W1 chip — with four times the processing speed of the previous generation — the Allure brings the most refined version of Widex's ZeroDelay PureSound philosophy to the most capable hardware Widex has ever put in a hearing aid. In independent HearAdvisor laboratory testing, the Allure RIC 440 earned a SoundScore of 4.7 out of 5, an A Grade, and ranked 7th out of 39 prescription hearing aids tested — placing it in the top 15% of all prescription devices evaluated. Its initial fit score was 4.8 out of 5 — one of the highest out-of-the-box performance scores HearAdvisor has recorded.

For patients who want the most natural, transparent hearing experience available from a top-15% independently verified device — the Allure is Widex's strongest answer.

ZeroDelay PureSound — Still the Most Natural Sound Available

The Allure's foundation is the same principle that has defined Widex for a decade, now running on significantly more powerful hardware. ZeroDelay processes sound in 0.5 milliseconds — the fastest processing delay in the hearing aid industry. At that speed, the processed sound from the hearing aid and the natural sound entering through the ear's venting merge at the eardrum without the distortion that slower processing creates.

The practical result is PureSound — a listening experience without the slightly hollow, echoey, or artificial quality that many hearing aid wearers describe in other platforms. What patients who have struggled with the sound of other hearing aids consistently notice about PureSound is not a specific feature turning on — it is the absence of the artifact they had learned to associate with wearing hearing aids. The sound simply sounds more like the world sounds.

On the Allure, PureSound has been quantified for the first time in published research: the Allure PureSound program improves speech intelligibility in noise by 4.3 dB for patients with mild to moderate hearing loss — a clinically meaningful improvement that reflects the combined effect of ZeroDelay processing and the W1 chip's enhanced sound analysis.

Precision Hearing Technology — Five Features on the W1 Chip

The W1 chip enables what Widex calls Precision Hearing Technology — five interconnected features that work simultaneously on the same processing platform without compromising each other:

Speech Enhancer Pro — The most significant speech-in-noise advancement in the Allure. Where the previous MOMENT platform used broadband spectral analysis for noise management, Speech Enhancer Pro uses 52-band spectral analysis — a significantly more detailed frequency resolution that allows more precise identification and reduction of background noise while preserving speech signals. Widex's published research found that the Allure was preferred by 92% of wearers in noisy situations compared to competitors when Speech Enhancer Pro was active.

Enhanced Sound Classifier — The system that reads the acoustic environment and automatically selects the appropriate processing response. The W1 chip's enhanced classifier detects environment changes faster and with greater accuracy than the previous generation — producing smoother transitions between settings as wearers move from quiet to noisy environments and back.

Allure PureSound with ZeroDelay — The core natural sound program. Combines ZeroDelay's 0.5ms processing speed with W1's enhanced sound analysis to deliver the most refined version of PureSound Widex has built.

Adaptive Dynamic Feedback Controller — Improved feedback management across a range of ear canal geometries and receiver configurations. HearAdvisor noted feedback handling as a consideration in initial testing — real ear measurement verification at the fitting, combined with appropriate dome or mold selection, is the clinical step that optimizes feedback performance for each patient's specific anatomy.

Allure Dedicated Streaming Compressor — Processes Bluetooth audio from a dedicated compression algorithm rather than routing streaming audio through the same processing chain as environmental sound. The result is higher audio quality for music, calls, and media streaming than platforms that apply hearing aid processing to streaming audio.

HearAdvisor Independent Testing — The Full Picture

HearAdvisor's independent laboratory evaluated the Widex Allure RIC 440 under standardized conditions using objective acoustic measurements and blind listening protocols — the same methodology applied to every other hearing aid in their test set.

SoundScore: 4.7 out of 5 — A Grade
Ranked: 7th out of 39 prescription hearing aids tested — top 15%
Initial fit score: 4.8 out of 5 — among the highest out-of-the-box scores HearAdvisor has recorded for any hearing aid

HearAdvisor describes the Allure as delivering excellent speech clarity in quiet settings and best suited for listeners who prioritize conversation in calm to moderately demanding environments. For patients in consistently extreme noise environments whose primary clinical priority is speech-in-noise performance above all else, the Phonak Infinio Ultra Sphere — HearAdvisor's #1 for speech in noise — may be the stronger recommendation. For patients who want top-15% independently verified performance with the most natural listening experience available, the Allure's 4.7/5 A Grade reflects a device that performs at a genuinely high level across the full range of listening conditions.

Three Styles — Including Widex's First Rechargeable ITE

The Allure is available in three form factors, each rechargeable — there is no disposable battery option on the Allure platform:

Allure RIC — Receiver-in-canal, rechargeable. One of the smallest RIC devices on the market. IP68 rated for water and dust resistance. The most popular Allure style and the device used in HearAdvisor testing. Fits mild to severe hearing loss.

Allure BTE — Behind-the-ear, rechargeable. Up to 32 hours of battery life with five hours of streaming per day. Extends the Allure platform to patients with mild to profound hearing loss who need a larger device with more power and amplification range.

Allure ITE — Widex's first ever rechargeable custom in-the-ear hearing aid. Full Precision Hearing Technology in a custom-molded device. Hands-free Bluetooth connectivity — a feature not available in most custom ITE devices from other manufacturers. Rechargeable with contactless charging. For patients who want the Allure platform in a device that sits entirely inside the ear.

Connectivity — Bluetooth LE Audio and the Allure App

The Allure supports Bluetooth LE Audio for direct streaming from compatible iOS and Android devices — hands-free calling, music, podcasts, and media audio delivered to both hearing aids. The Allure Dedicated Streaming Compressor ensures this streaming audio is processed at the highest possible quality rather than through standard hearing aid processing.

The Widex Allure App provides full user-side control including My Sound Control — allowing adjustment of bass, midrange, and treble across environments — SoundSense Learn AI personalization that learns from real-world listening preferences and provides crowd-sourced setting suggestions from wearers in similar environments, and Find My Hearing Aids location functionality.

On Auracast: The Allure's Bluetooth LE Audio hardware is Auracast-compatible and the infrastructure is present in every device. The firmware update enabling full Auracast functionality had not shipped as of mid-2026. Widex has confirmed it is on the roadmap. Patients who need Auracast working immediately should note this timeline.

Two Honest Limitations — Worth Knowing Before You Choose

No remote programming. Every Allure fitting and adjustment must be performed in person by a hearing care professional. There is no remote care or telehealth adjustment option on the Allure platform. For patients who want the ability to receive minor adjustments from home between appointments, this is a meaningful practical consideration — and the SmartRIC, which runs on a different platform, offers remote programming capabilities.

No Zen tinnitus therapy. Widex's celebrated Zen fractal tone program and SoundRelax tinnitus tools — for which the brand has been particularly well regarded among tinnitus management audiologists — are not available on the Allure platform. They remain on the SmartRIC. If tinnitus management using Widex's Zen approach is a clinical priority alongside hearing loss treatment, the SmartRIC is the appropriate Widex choice rather than the Allure.

Technology Levels — 440, 330, 220, and 110

The Allure is available in four technology tiers — all sharing the same W1 chip, rechargeable battery, Bluetooth LE Audio, IP68 rating, and Allure App:

440 — Premium. Full Precision Hearing Technology at maximum processing depth. The technology level tested by HearAdvisor. All five features running at their highest capability. For patients in variable and demanding listening environments who want the complete Allure performance.

330 — Advanced. Strong Precision Hearing Technology performance for patients with active social lives and regular moderate to challenging listening demands.

220 — Standard. Core Precision Hearing Technology processing for reliable everyday performance in moderate listening environments.

110 — Essential. Foundational ZeroDelay PureSound and automatic processing at the most accessible Allure price point. For patients whose listening challenges are primarily moderate and who want the Allure's natural sound quality at a lower investment.

Allure vs. Allure AI — Should You Wait?

The Widex Allure AI — adding a dedicated DNN co-processor for on-demand Clarity Boost in noise — launches in the US on November 1, 2026 — approximately five weeks away. For patients whose primary challenge is speech in the most demanding noisy environments and who are not in urgent need of new hearing aids, it is worth asking Dr. Haynie at the consultation whether waiting for the Allure AI makes more sense than purchasing the standard Allure now.

For patients who need hearing aids now, or whose primary priority is PureSound natural sound quality in a top-15% independently verified device — the standard Allure is ready, proven, and available today.
